Did you hear about Hershel Walker? While getting dressed for work, he was on Good Morning America. He's written a book regarding his struggles with mental illness. When I read your P.S., immediately, I thought about Walker. In his candor, he stated that there are MORE out there and he won't call any names but thank God that he received the help that he received because he was fighting DEMONIC SPIRITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His ex wife spoke about the turmoil in living with him but she appears to have forgiven him. I will pass the world along because we are living in perilous times and people have a FORM OF GODLINESS but don't know who to turn to. The majority of them that are attending churches are paying their tithes but not receiving any substance from the man or woman of God in the pulpit.

Are you familiar with the Athletes for Christ program? I'm sure there is one in South Carolina and with the MAJOR universities there. This may be an excellent way of plugging your gifting with that organization. After this Hershel Walker's revelations, this could be the season for the door to open. I like the idea of the pastor's wives because many are ABUSED, yes isolated and don't have a life outside of him and the church. What a challenging task. That's why I tell many that chase and pursue men of the cloth, "You may want him but is that what God has for your life? The man that you see preach behind the podium is not the same man when he's not in the pulpit! If God did not grace you with the anointing to live with this man, you could lose your mind or life!" I've been told that my husband is a MIGHTY MAN OF GOD; therefore, I thank God for giving me my own career, anointing and strength to stand with him. When he appears, I'll know. That prophetic word has come to me SEVERAL times; therefore, I patiently wait on God. Therefore, just ordinary doesn't appeal to me because I've been promised something very specific. Rushing will get you in a lot of trouble. Women that chase and pursue again do not realize what they're asking for!! :)))

Without anything to give

Author Biography

Karl A. Oglesby is a gifted poet/ author, lyricist, songwriter , artist and powerfully inspiring inspirational & motivational speaker called by God to minister to the broken-hearted (and suffering) and to take His message of peace to the world. He has been writing poetry for over 20 yrs. and was well known for his romantic and deeply passionate love poems until He was wondrously consecrated and anointed by God upon which he dedicated his literary gift to the glory of God and the establishment of His Kingdom in all the earth. Most of his poetry is cause oriented as he frequently writes in support of or as an advocate for those who have suffered greatly (for ex: the persecuted church, the anti-slavery movement, anti-violence, victims of church burnings and the holocausts and the broken-hearted; he is also often commissioned to write Living Legacy poems which he describes as being oil paintings painted with words, which describe a loved ones life, personality and etc.) Mr. Oglesby, who prefers to be known as Brother Karl, was born in New Rochelle, New York, grew up in Columbia, SC and is a graduate of Talladega College, Talladega, AL.; the Business Institute of Technology, Cedar Falls, IA and has completed a year of graduate work at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, IA.; he is currently studying for the ministry at The W.L. Bonner Bible College, Columbia, SC and through the Global University-Berean School of the Bible. was a student at Talladega College in Alabama. Karl was in
the Department of Sociology and Social Work. I was Director
of the Social Work Program at the time. He would often come,
sit in my office discussing life, problems, philosophy, religion and
his commitment to help people, so I knew him very well. He graduated
in 1975. Karl was an exceptional student and a good writer, even
then. When he moved back to South Carolina, I was living
here and we continued our talks as if we had just left a comma
there in 1975. Karl honors me by calling me Ma. That is
not only a pleasure, but I now know since Im 90 years old
that I can call on him any time that I might need him.
Through these years, I have had the pleasure of reading
his poems. He was always a very spiritual person and that is
reflected in most of his works. His poetry has a lyrical quality to it.
It also reaches out to many who have a special need at the moment.
I am happy he has decided to publish these poems and share them with all of us.

Mrs. McCray is founder and first board member of the South
Carolina Writers Workshop, it now has 14 chapters throughout
the state. Their Literary Award is named after Mrs. McCray. She is
also a member of Cave Canem, of the National African American

Dear Readers:
If Mrs. McCray new I was going to write this little note
of tribute, she would have tried to stop me but, some are
certainly worthy of double honor! Mrs. McCray is not only
my literary and spiritual mother, but also someone who has
had a profound impact on my life. She, as Dr. Maya Angelou,
Oprah Winfrey, Cicely Tyson, Tony Morrison, Sonia
Sanchez, Nikki Giovanni, Nikky Finney, Fannie P. Adams,
Carolyn Watson as well as the late Mahalia Jackson, Ammie
Murray, Tom Feelings and in my book, my mother, Mrs.
Josephine E. Bonner Oglesbyis a national and
international treasure. Not only is she certain to live on in
history but she, as these and many others has forever shaped,
transformed and impacted all those who have been fortunate
enough to know her, be taught by her, blessed by her and
inspired by her. For she is not only living the legacyshe is
the lifes blood of the legacy of our people . . . our
nation . . . and our God!

Dear Karl,
Over the past years my wife and I have come to know
a great and wonderful person in you. Karl, you have truly
been a blessing to us. There have been times when you were
going though trials of your own and at the same time you
were blessing others. Karl, according to the scripture in Isaiah
26:3 it says he will keep you in perfect peace whose mind
is stayed on him. Karl because you have stayed positive in

PREFACE
God has called me to minister to the broken-hearted and to
take His message of peace to the world! It has been a long and
arduous journey over the years as God has emptied me, His servant
vessel, shined the light of His grace on my heart, convicted my
heart of sin, saved and sanctified me and led me into the fullness of
His glorious Spirit! When I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit
and fire and was divinely anointed with oil, cleansed, consecrated
and empowered by the Spirit with water from the River of Life
flowing from the Throne of God . . . everything changed! I no longer
sought fame, fortune, and the pleasures of the world, nor did I continue
to selfishly squander the wondrous gift that God had
given me, instead by His magnificent grace, I devoted and
consecrated my gift of poetry and psalms to the glory of Almighty
God and seek to walk in the center of His will, and His revealed
destiny, vision and purpose for my life. Thus, He has changed my
heart, and especially the desires and longings of my heart, and
after many trials and much time spent in the furnace and
wilderness, transformed it to that of a servants heart. Had He not
afflicted me I, as King David, probably would not have come to
cling to His wounded side and experience His infinite love, mercy,
grace and faithfulness, which endure forever and ever. For, I needed His
all-sufficient super grace! Had He not placed me in the furnace, purged
me with His Holy Fire, and at times, taken me into the wilderness where
my faith was tested and tried and hope was all I had, I would not have
come to praise Him for his faithfulness, for yet still will I trust in Him and
serve Him with my whole heart, as I have learned the victorious triumph of
surrendering all to Him!
In addition, the Lord Jesus revealed the Father to me and upon
this revelation, for the first time in my life I realized that God
loved me unconditionally and that there was nothing I could do
to make Him love me any more or less than He always did, so I
surrendered my life and yielded my heart to my Father God. Now
I have an intimate and personal relationship with my Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ and am a soldier gladly serving in the army of
the Lord, as well as His bondservant and a slave to Christ Jesus My
Lord! Thus, I comfort others with the same comfort with which I
have been comforted!
3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the
Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. 6If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
