A New Promise (2007)
The story of a family in crisis, A New Promise tells the story of the Parnell family's struggles to survive the devastation of a wife and mother's affliction with Huntington's disease. I'm a wife, mother, grandma and author who recently relocated from Seattle to the Nashville area. Having spent my life thus far in Washington State, from farm girl to city girl, I'm transitioning back to rural life and am loving it! I hadn't realized how stressful my life had become until my husband's corporate relocation led us to the rolling hills of middle Tennessee.
There's something about hayfields, corn fields, wheat fields and grazing cattle that speaks to a country girl's heart, especially a country girl who writes stories about rural living. The Lord has answered a need in both our hearts (self and hubby) and has led us to a place where we can slow down a bit and remember some of the simple pleasures in life--the aroma of a freshly-mown alfalfa field....the sound of a train whistle splitting the night air rather than emergency sirens....
Besides working as a medical transcriptionist, I'm trained as a chemical dependency counselor, and as a phlebotomist (the person who comes at you with a needle and a smile in the lab). I discovered, following my counseling internship, that my own experiences with addiction in my husband and child were too close to allow me to counsel others effectively, and have come to realize that the Lord allowed this experience in my life in order to help groom me for the ministry He's led me to.
You can visit my website, www.Julieeller.com, to read more about my experiences with codependency, faith, and what I've learned about recovery in general.
And finally, I've been writing "seriously" for about nine years. My first book, "A New Promise" released 9/11/07. The Lord has just been soooo good to me, and has opened all the right doors in His perfect timing. I'm so excited to see what He has in store for the future.
Take a peek at the trailer for "A New Promise."

It's now March, and we're officially into Month 10 of our job-mandated separation. No end in sight. This is really beginning to wear on us.
We've had only one showing of our house in five weeks and have dropped the price $47K, to basically what ...

Hi Julie! I haven't been on (again) in quite awhile! I pray all is well with you! I'm in northern Idaho. It's so beautiful here! The Lord has blessed us so much...as He usually does! :) I'm continuing with my business...have been involved now for 8 years & what I love (besides life changing every day products) is that I don't sell to anyone! I just tell people about a good thing just like I do with a movie or restaurant...except I get paid from this company for doing that! The integrity and honesty is more than I've ever seen....I do my work for the Lord.... check out my new website at www.FamilyFreedom.info !!!
Keep in touch and let me know how you are and how your writing is going! Gods blessings on you!!! :)

Hi Julie,
I just found out that you ended up in Tennessee. What a roller coaster ride you've been on. I pray that God continues to bless you and your 67-year-old hubbie in 2010!!! Tell him hi for me.
