So here's my list in no particular order: Jeff Scheetz, Bloodgood, Angelica, Stryper, Whitecross, Joe Satriani, Stu Hamm, Gary Hoey, Bride, Alter Bridge, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Queensryche, Scorpions, Guardian, Rush, Extreme, Barnabas, Barren Cross, Lanny Cordola, Rage of Angels, Tony MacAlpine, IC3 and more!

About Derek Close
After about 20 years of playing music, I still love it! The past two decades have brought me into contact with a ton of wonderful people and gave me the honor of being able to play with a number of exceptional musicians. And to top it all off, we've received testimony from people who were blessed, moved and came to know Jesus! We labor not in vain! The Lord is good in fulfilling His promise that His word won't return void.

I'm married to a wonderful woman, Tori. She is by far my better half. She has a great voice so we've been able to musically work together. She's also my photographer. What can I say? She's awesome! I'm a father of 2, a boy and a girl, and a grandfather of one. I'm not even 40 yet! God has blessed our family over and over again. I can't think of anything, or anywhere else I'd rather be.

I recently had the privilege of being interviewed on Recovery in Christ Ministries' pod cast. It was a lot of fun and a neat experience. If you would like to take a listen go to: TalkShoe Recovery in Christ Ministries

Silly Scientists, Lungs Aren't For Frogs   4/13/2008 - 12:36 PM
I read an article on CNN today about the discovery of a lungless frog. That's right. A species of frog that doesn't have any lungs. Oxygen is absorbed through the skin. They say that the frog got rid of its lungs (due to an evolutionary process) ... (login or sign up to read more)

The Lord's Hand   4/12/2008 - 12:05 PM
I've been longing to blog about this this for about a month but just haven't really known what to say. Now I think I'm ready. So where do I start? I guess I'll start with a little history. In the mid-90's I was in a band named Judah. This group... (login or sign up to read more)

With strident confidence, American Congress for Truth founder Brigitte Gabriel rebukes the American public for being "weak, asleep or careless" in the face of Muslim terrorism. A Christian survivor of the extermination Lebanese Christians by the Muslim population in the 1970s, Gabriel leans on her own terrifying experiences to explain the very real threat of Islam, its imperialism, inherent bigotry, and violent nature.

Committing to Each Other
2008/07/31

A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24 (NIV)

*** *** *** ***

Today's guest devotional is provided by Jon Walker -

Truth teaches that the quality of our friendships is more important than the quantity. We don't need a lot of friends in this life, but we do need a few good ones.

By moving beyond superficial acquaintance with specific Jesus-ones, we become friends who are closer than family (Proverbs 18:24).

This requires considerably more commitment than our standard "to each his own" approach to getting along. Instead, we agree there will be "none of this going off and doing your own thing" (Colossians 3:15 MSG).

We see each other as individuals, unique creations of God and vessels of God's grace. We "develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with God and enjoy its results" when we "do the hard work of getting along with each other, treating each other with dignity and honor" (James 3:18 MSG).

Although this describes what a family should be, it's a stone, cold fact that many people find closer relationships among friends than their blood relatives. But there is a different type of blood relative, sisters and brothers who are grafted together through the blood of Jesus Christ.

His power within us gives us the ability to become companions who stick together closer than a brother, or sister.

Found this and wow did I agree!!! Pass it on to a friend or two =) GBU...
