Who are we and what do we do?
"Southern Gospel Singing Straight from the Heart" is how we've been characterized by those who have had an opportunity to worship with us in our concerts.
Cross Reference Ministries was formed in 1993. Up until then Curt and Joy had been touring and singing in a secular bluegrass/country group. In March of '93, by the Grace of our all mighty God and the conviction of the Holy Spirit, Curt was saved! He immediately vowed that any musical talent that he had been given would be used to honor our savior Jesus Christ. Cross Reference was formed and since that day, we have honored that commitment.
Cross Reference Ministries consists of husband and wife Curt and Joy Hollifield, their daughter Christen Blanton, and Joy's sister Cindi Welch. Each one is a born again believer with a true passion for service for Christ. Tight harmonies, pure motives and testifying of God's blessings are what make their ministry a true worship experience. Motivated by the Holy Spirit and dedicated to the cause of Christ, Cross Reference is truly focused on bringing God's Word through song.
What can I expect when
Cross Reference comes to my church?
Listen to our CD. Some say we've got a Southern Gospel sound and others say we're Country. Both are true. When we book a concert, we send out a package of flyers, photos and some instructions on how to promote the concert. While we definitely want everyone in the congregation to attend, we also want to stress to them to bring someone to the service that is lost. We're all fishers of men. We'll sing, quote scripture and testify as to the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The length of service begins with the church and ends with the Holy Spirit. We go to do business on behalf of our Lord. Our prayers prior to the service will revolve around God's will taking place. We ask for His blessings upon the congregation plus a sweet anointing from the Holy Spirit. If we are to be seed planters, then so be it. However, if the Holy Spirit convicts a soul and they want to receive Christ, Glory to God!
Since we began in 1993, we have ministered through song at approximately 875 churches and events. We have always done our best to make every effort to fulfill our booking obligations. Thanks to our Lord's Grace, stability is one of our strengths. We are truly dedicated to bringing a Gospel message through song and word to any congregation.

I wanted to share something with you that happened to me a few years ago concerning our singing and ministering as a gospel group. I hope it will be an encouragement to whom ever takes the time to read it.

Hi there just dropping in to tell you how much you are loved and treasured by God and by me. I value your friendship and thank you for all the sweetness and joy you bring into my life. Times are hard for many, but God is faithful. I so want you to know that. Not just as truth alone, for the sake of truth, but by experience continually. The young lions lack and suffer hunger (that is the worldly elite around you) but those who seek the Lord (His instructions) lack no good thing. Psalm 34:10. Therefore, make your boast in Him Psalm 34:2. (Out of your mouth He has established strength that He may silence His enemy and yours. Psalm 8:2. That is that He may stop satan's power over you.) Watch what you say, praise Him, agree with Him, and wait expectantly for the victory. He will lift you to the height of His promises. (To the pinnacle or apex, the very top of the mountain of grace) And there is no way to get higher than that. Psalm 8:2) Remember the terms of His covenant. He will surely keep His word.
YOU ARE A KING!!
Jesus became a man and overcome that which kept you from being the king under God that you were meant to be. That you might once again take your place as a king and priest of Almighty God! Revelation 1:5-6, 19:16, 22:5.
You were created in the image of the Lord and you are strong in Him and the power of His might. See Genesis 1:27; and Ephesians 6:10. That is you are strong in Him when you believe that you are and give up your weak ways for the power of His Spirit. Feel weak say, "I am strong." (2 Corinthians 12:10; Joel 1:10) You are a regal heir of the Most High. And as a child of this royal clan God intends you always to be the head and not the tail. As you live by the law of love and place your faith in the promises of the Father. Deuteronomy 28:13. You are a ruler over the evil that rules over this messed up world. You are a king of the King. Never waver from the truth of His word. Know who you are! Believe it and live it! He has given you power over all lesser powers than His own. He has deprived the enemy of any right to rule over those who believe when they keep to His word. Romans 8:3; Luke 10:19. Yes, you will be tested again and again. But don't let fear and unbelief keep you in the wilderness and deprive you of your inheritance rights. The Lord your Rock is unshakable. He passed the tests; He trains you to war according to the rules of Heaven, in union with His extraterrestrial, supernatural, undefeatable almighty power. Sound too simple?! It is! But it is not easy. Seldom easy! Your flesh will groan and complain, the world will call you a foolish nut, and your major enemy will roar out threats and try to inundate you with fear. But, you, by walking according to your spirit which is connected to and empower by God's Spirit will always come out a winner, when you fight with the spiritual weapons of the Most high. Step high and smile brightly invade the impossible and conquer it, In the name of Jesus.

Oh Father, You see and know all, there is nothing that is ever hidden from You. LORD we ask to come boldly before Your Throne of Mercy and Grace. Father we do not want to be Mystery Babylon, a Nation that does not do Your will. Oh, LORD forgive us all from sinning against you and being a selfish, greedy, land of opportunity, that does not share all we have with your children that go without. Father, we know today that not one person should be starving or homeless, or without and they are. Forgive us Father, we ask as a Nation to pour Your Spirit out upon us all, turn our hearts back to You LORD. Your will be done here on earth as it is in heaven. We ask in Christ Jesus name Father, that You lead this Nation, this world back to You. So none will perish. amen!
