At a time when the music landscape is constantly shifting and something fresh is hard to come by, with the world full of more darkness and despair than ever before, Cloudchase simply wants to offer hope through music.
Knowing deep down that reaching people through music was not just to be a hobby, but a life call, Cloudchase was born. Then the work really began, with endless hours spent honing the group's vision, sound and goals.
In the end, it came down to the voice. With a lucid yet dreamlike sound, the heart of Cloudchase is Erin's vocals. Mixing a Leigh Nash mystique, Sheryl Crow charm and the rawness of Avril Lavigne, the result is an awe-inducing sound that resonates with all who hear it.
A performer her whole life, it seems Erin was born for such a time as this. "My mom says I could sing even before I could talk," she recounts. "I used to make my whole family sing together every time we got in the car - they got a little sick of it, though, so they sent me to Nashville!"
Also a part of Cloudchase is Erin's husband, Zak. He is an amazing bass player and helps with songwriting, directing and hiring band members, and booking. Erin couldn't do what she does without Zak's support and covering.
After a year of playing with the band, Matt (Matticus) Spell officially joined Cloudchase. As the lead AND rythym electric guitarist AND backround vocalist, Matt has come to be an essential component to the band's overall sound. Shortly after Matt Spell joined, drummer Matt Manes jumped on as well. "Manes being in the band is one of those things that can only be described with "God did it..." We actually found him on myspace!! In his headline, he had (kind of tongue in cheek) put "your future drummer" I looked at the rest of his profile and was like- "this guy sounds perfect!" We added him as a friend and the rest is history... it was totally God." Remarks Erin.
Now, with the creation of their debut EP, Another World, under their belt and a full length project coming out in May of '08, Cloudchase is ready to offer healing and hope to others. And their goal is nothing short of making a big splash in an even bigger pond. "There are so many people on the verge of mediocrity; those who are barely getting by, living ho-hum lives," the band says. "We're hoping that Another World will touch and inspire -- providing a great musical experience. But beyond that, we hope it will help those who are struggling to realize they were born for something better."
"We're all about chasing and getting after what we've been made for: dreams, relationships, things bigger and better than us!" In other words, life is short and you only get one shot so make the most of it. It's a message Cloudchase hopes comes through in their music as well as their lives. So get ready: The chase is on!

It seems like forever since our paths last crossed here, but you all were on my mind just now, and so I thought that i would stop by to see how you all have been doing. I have no doubt that our Lord is continuing to work mightily in and through you all and y'all's always-great-sounding music. :) All is well with Maria and I.
You all were among the very first to make me feel welcome when I first came onboard here at Shoutlife back January 2007...I will of course never forget that. :)
May our Lord continue to bless you all awesomely!
Much love from your brother in Jesus, and your friend always...Bob
