That might be a stretch, but my writings have been compared to some of Thoreau's works, and a few have O. Henry-esque endings. Father Tim Perry, author of Blessed is She; Living Lent with Mary, wrote that my book is 'a testimony to the goodness of God, who speaks in the most remarkable ways.'
Doc Adams of TaDa Ministries says: it's a 'Walden for a new generation...destined to be a classic.'
It will be a book on spiritual/healing - with lots of fun stories tossed in for roaring laughs!
Look for revised edition (and more stories!) of Angels in the Landfill, to be out in paperback and downloadable as e-reader - for much more reasonable price than previous publisher listed it! coming November 2012

The 'Quiet Garden' movement, Creation Stewardship, interpersonal/interspecies harmony, humane treatment of animals, natural habitat creation and restoration; simple/minimalist living; ethology, caninality/dogs, horses and animal welfare; reading and spiritual growth; and helping those who mourn. Being 'a voice for the voiceless' is very important to me; i feel that we all must be willing to help those - be they children, the elderly, the disabled, our animal brethren, the downtrodden and despairing - who cannot advocate for themselves.

Mullen, Jimmy Buffett, Andrew Peterson, U2, Mitch McVicker, CCR, Coldplay, Rick Elias (oh, already mentioned him; well i like him a LOT!), Coldplay, Bob Dylan, Michael Card, Matthew West, Josh Groban, TobyMac, Eric Clapton, Jennifer Knapp, Bob Dylan, Alysha Keyes, Adele, Barlow Girl, Jeff Buckley, Mitch McVicker, and Joan Baez - and I also love classical music, especially JS and JC Bach, Vivaldi, Debussy, and Chopin.

Angels in the Landfill (Mixed Blessings and Saving Graces) 2nd Edition (2013)
First released in 2009, the second edition is better and fuller! more stories, now available in paperback and e-reader only. MOST of the proceeds will go to benefit a national charity that helps battered women and children by preventing abuse and neglect, providing shelter for those in crisis and suffering from assault (mental, physical, sexual, etc), educating the public, providing funding for more resources, teaching teens about dating violence, the relationship between animal cruelty and interpersonal violence, keeping national statistics on domestic violence and in general, giving HOPE to those who feel defeated and hopeless.
Thus, every copy of Angels that is sold, 70% goes directly to this 501(c)3 nationally-recognized charity.

Angels In The Landfill (Mixed Blessings and Saving Graces) (2009)
a collection of short stories and essays - some anecdotal and humorous, others more contemplative and roughly theological, but all carefully woven together with the fragile threads of hope, faith and love.

Angels in the Landfill (Mixed Blessings and Saving Graces) 2nd Edition (2009)
The 2nd edition of Angels in the Landfill is coming out soon! (probably Feb 2013) and contains a few new stories in it - all about God's all-encompassing LOVE, and His presence in the good and the bad. He is in everything; He IS everything! Yahweh. God with us: Emmanuel.
It'll be available in paperback for under $10, and on e-readers for under $4, on Amazon/KDP/CreateSpace.
ALL of the proceeds of the 2nd edition of Angels... will be going to a national coalition that works on many levels to educate people about domestic violence: to eradicate it by legislative initiatives, to organize and support local shelters for the battered and abused, and to address the rise in teen dating abuse. They also teach us about the high correlation between animal neglect/abuse and interpersonal violence - and the consequences of this link.
This is the scrapbook of my life; its my legacy, and what i leave this world. I pray that it is 'good enough.'
And I pray you just enough rain in life that all your weeds grow into wildflowers - and that you delight in the abundant butterflies on them, as well as the rainbows that come only after those rains.

Compassion, in which all ethics must take root, can only attain its breadth and depth if it embraces all living creatures and does not limit itself to mankind.
~ Albert Schweitzer
I think that I shall never see
a poem as lovely as a tree...
A tree that looks at God all day
and lifts her leafy arms to pray...
Poems are made by fools like me
but only God can make a tree.
~ Alfred Joyce Kilmer ~
Trees, Every Root An Anchor

Ask and it will be given; seek and ye shall find; knock and the door will be open. ~ Matthew 7:7

On my horse farm, my shelter-pup Cleopatra often returned to the barn with dead moles. In my naivete (and my inability to envision my sweet dog harming anything) I once asked my ex: Where is Cleo finding all these dead moles? He smirked a bit and in...

We had very little hope or faith when we found these 2 pitiful dogs dying in the 12 degree January cold - abandoned, alone, chained, starving, and - the vets told us - they likely wouldn't survive the night. The pictures of Faith are too graphic to s...
