That might be a stretch, but my writings have been compared to some of Thoreau's works, and some have O. Henry-esque endings. Tim Perry, author of Blessed is She; Living Lent with Mary, wrote that my book is 'a testimony to the goodness of God, who speaks in the most remarkable ways.'

a poem as lovely as a tree...
A tree that looks at God all day
and lifts her leafy arms to pray...

Carlynn, thanks for listening. Glad you liked our music:) Ya, I use to think that I was born too late to be a Hippie too;) But, it's all come around again. So, we can make it all better this time;) Ya, I wasn't sure about who made the video. It is good though. Thanks for writing back:)

I made it through pretty good. Kept my eyes on the Lord...which helped me keep my perspective. The Saints foot ball team played on his birthday & won. & are going to the Super Bowl for the first time ever!! There was a time when we were just thankful if they just won a game all season. The saying was they would be going to the SB when hell freezes. Well its been mighty cold here & its actually snowed here!! And after Katrina alot of people referred to this area as hell. lol (I live in MS but live on the state line so I'm only about 45 to 60 minutes from New Orleans by car.) Any way... on the 24th my Stan's b-day his Saints won. The kids & I have decided that Stan must be rigging the results from Heaven. Because this is a bonafide miracle they made it this far. LOL
If they win the Super Bowl then we know for sure God is a Saints fan & likes messin' with the Global Warming guys. heh..heh!!
So on my husbands birthday we had the chance to laugh & remember him as he should be remembered...with laughter not tears. :o)
I have your brother, your mom,you & your family in my prayers...never ceasing!!! (((((((Snow))))))) <3 Thanks Much for your encouragement & loving kindness. Means the world to me...so do you!!. <3

You girl have sure had your hands full & heart full of worry lately.... You are a blessing to your mom, brother & family to this I am sure. As well as to me. Not only do I have your family in my constant prayers I have you. Please dont wear yourself out physically or mentally. Be sure to take care of yourself too or you won't have anything left to give. I know how frustrating it can be to not be able to help those in need & are struggling...that all we can offer is our prayers & heartfelt love. But speaking to the Almighty on their behalf is a powerful thing as I have learned. He is listening to our prayers & He will answer.
Tomorrow would have been my husbands 55th b-day. I am actually handling it better than I thought...well so far anyway. o_O Your right it does get easier to deal with the sadness...its still there but not so potent.
The people in Haiti's sitation is heart breaking. However, I do know from experience with here with Hurricane Katrina & a Super Typhoon Pamela in Guam... that natural disasters like these bring out the worst but also the best people have to offer. I choose to believe that through adversity comes faith, wisdom & great strength...real character building opportnities. One learns to rely on God to bring us through. He is definitely here for us...always.
Gotcha in my prayers & in my heart my friend & Sistah Snow. You are so dear to me!!! Love Ya!!! :o)

Howdy Carlynn how are things in South Carolina? Is it cold. It is freezing here in South Texas which is very unusual. In fact it was funny that you mentioned scratching the critters because I had to let all of my cats stay in the house with me last night. We had quite a slumber party. I had a great time and I think they did also. I love the sounds of your life. I really think you have it going on. I then is beautiful where you live. I know I live way out in the country and I love it. I see God's fingerprints everywhere I look. People always ask if I get bored out here and I just laugh. Well I hope the dogs are behaving. I bet you were a great nurse. Stay in touch. God bless you guys

Carlynn,
My family is so excited about the New Year, New Beginnings, New Purposes and a New Ministry. My daughters gave me a necklace for Christmas that says EMBRACE CHANGE. We all cried together and then agreed to do just that....EMBRACE CHANGE. How about you my dear friend? May I add you to my family's agreement to EMBRACE CHANGE this year?

I have just been asked to be the speaker for the 5th Annual Central Baptist Women's Conference on March 20th. It's an all day event. They want me to minister with my music and word. I'm very excited.

Love, Hugs & Prayers,
Tonya

I know that I'm late here, but it's the thought that counts right? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you Carlynn.

Just wanted to say howdy. I have a feeling it's going to be a great year!
tommy on 12/30/09 - 3:12 PM
I love your site! So many great pictures. I live on a ranch where I have raised all kinds of animals and just love them to death. Now I mostly raise cats and have more than my share but I love them very much. I am so grateful you are an animal lover. My heart hurt as I read your story of your daughter and all else that has happened to you. You are certainly an encouragement to me! You are a true testament that you can go on no matter what even though you may not feel like the same person sometimes. That is why I love the serenity prayer so much.
DIANE aka MamaGeoMaus on 12/24/09 - 8:48 PM
Merry CHRISTmas ((((Snow))) <3 Gotcha in my heart & in my prayers & your brother & family too. I pray you will have a joyful day!!! Love you Snow!!!! :o)

Hey Carlynn,

When will you be leaving for your Christmas trip? How long will you be gone?

Yes, Christmas will be very different and Christmas Eve is my mom & dad's 54th anniversary so I will be missing them both that day for sure. But I have to be happy they are together for their anniversary.

Mornings and late evenings are still the saddest for me I think. That is when my total world used to evolve around my mom and her care.

Be Blessed my new found friend. I know the holidays are still difficult for you too. I think of your loss often and my heart hurts for you.

Merry Christmas.
Love, Hugs & Prayers,
Tonya
