Cloaked as an average mom and housewife on most days, Becki Hedrick trades in her toilet brush and dishpan hands for a guitar and a microphone, transforming into a songsmith whose melodies draw you in and lyrics grab you at heart level, carrying you on a ride that is equal parts "great adventure" and "deep soul searching."
Skillful guitar, rich vocals, acoustic and tasteful, these songs penetrate the deeper places of the heart. Vulnerable and honest, they articulate the longing to know Jesus more.
From coffeehouses to retreats and churches to concerts in the park, Becki's music is warmly received everywhere she performs. Her listeners are drawn in by the presence of God's love as she shares the gift of her music.
"I'm always amazed when someone is touched by my songs because, to me, they're just my songs. Still, I know that God takes things that are very ordinary and does extraordinary things with them."
Becki is originally from Kenosha, WI and moved to WV in 1982. She worked for a time as a youth leader in a local church, and met her husband, Scott, through involvement in the Lay Witness Mission movement. After marrying, Becki worked as an RN while she and Scott worked in youth ministry together, and later partnered with another couple to start and run a Christian coffeehouse in the early 90's. Since then, her finest works, her four children, have taken center stage. She's been a full-time mom, homeschool teacher, and has spent the past 12 years as a worship leader for the Vineyard Church in Wheeling, WV. Her CD project, Call Of The Cross, is in its final stages and will be released in the near future.
